  • Jason Salter Jason Salter

    Jason Salter

    Managing Director

Jason started his underwater life when he was just 10. Growing up with a Dive Instructor as a father and spending his early years in the back of the family Dive & Snow shop set the path for him to follow on down the road of business in the fields he loves.

At 19 he became an Instructor and over the past 20 years has dived and trained thousands of people all over the world. His passion for the ocean has lead into many days at sea in command of dive and sea going vessels.

He formed the Dive Victoria Group in early 2000’s and has since focused on building the company into one of the largest day charter and training companies in the world today. “My goal was to create an operation that sets the standard for diver education and experiences and makes safety and enjoyment of our incredible underwater world central in everything we do”

Jason actively dives all levels of diving and particularly enjoys conducting technical training and professional development courses. Your sure to see him on or under the water as he is always around!

  • Jackson Hollands Jackson Hollands

    Jackson Hollands

Dive Instructor / Boat Crew / Marine Laborer / Everything in Between

My role at dive victoria has been very broad over the last few years. I’ve been involved in several school scuba camps teaching students to dive, which are rewarding after you gain control of crazy school kids. I’ve crewed boat trips to bass straight with film crews getting footage of wrecks for documentaries. I’ve had the opportunity of working on big boats in our DVG marine along side marine mechanics and spent some really fun times renovating our dive center putting on a second story.

I work here full time and you’ll find me on weekends working on the dive boats with a beanie on working on my tan keeping an eye over the divers in the water. And through the week if there’s no diving or marine work to be done ill be out chasing the surf taking full advantage of the ocean I am a water baby. Most importantly though you’ll see me at the dive center or the pub keen for a beer to discuss the days diving events or unwinding after a solid week of cruising the high sea’s with the awesome group of staff at dive vic.

  • Fred Headley

    Fred Headley

    Assistant Instructor/Technical guide

Fred has over 20 year of professional experience and is down guiding and diving every weekend.  He believes Victoria’s greatest diving asset is the diversity that we can offer every day, from reef to wrecks, walls and drifts with depths from 8 to 80m+. Fred ‘s passion is the deep technical dives and favourites include the elusive SS Alert wreck in 78m, the City of Rayville off Cape Ottway 82mtrs,  and recently to the deepest part of Port Phillip Bay Heads - below 100 mtrs, but his most memorable to date is diving to 153 mtrs in a cave, Song Hong, Thailand,

His dream destination is to dive the wreck Britanica at 120mtrs, Greece , and would love to see another Paper Nautilus here in Portsea. When not diving he doesn’t mind a G&T and a bit of Tom Waits while looking out to sea reliving the weekend’s diving or planning his next deep one! Favourite marine creature is the Manta Ray.

  • Chris Jansen

    Chris Jansen

    Dive Master

When I asked Chris why dive in Victoria? His reply was “Colours! There are no better in the world. Great for photography! The colours we have in our soft corals and sponges are amazing. We also have large mammals (fur seals) and some of the most unique wildlife on the planet. Not to mention the wrecks and drift dives” With a passion for photography, Chris’s favourite sites are Boarfish and The Grotto and loves the feel of flying along the wall when we have 30m vis. He will never forget the time he encountered two humpback whales in Exmouth and hopes to one day visit Indonesia for some macro diving. When he isn’t snapping away you might find him on a scallop drift dive, catching a fresh feed to enjoy with a beer at the end of a day.

  • Paul Schaus

    Paul Schaus

    Instructor

Paul Schaus has been diving for 28 years and has achieved Instructor Trainer level. He taught US Calvary Rescue Instructors in South Korea, discovered the shipwreck “Wexford” in Canada and worked with the University of Tasmania’s Reef Life Survey to collect data on Australian temperate marine life.
Paul moved to Melbourne in 2006 and immediately joined the Dive Victoria team. He enjoys diving in Melbourne because of the diversity of marine species, historic wrecks and most of all sea dragons.

  • Willeka Cox

    Willeka Cox

    Dive Con / Shop Assistant

Willeka found her passion in life when she was given an Open Water Course for her 40th birthday. Diving opened up a whole new world of challenges, excitement, friendships and the beauty of the ocean and is her form of meditation.  Willeka completed her Dive Control Specialist training (Assistant Dive Instructor) to improve her own diving and skill level but also so she could share her joy of diving with others. She loves nothing better than seeing the excitement and amazement on the faces of new divers and those returning to diving as they discover the beauty of our bays. Willeka helps Sonny run the Dive Victoria Diving Club and can be found on weekends guiding new divers and club members around the amazing dive sites we have to offer. Willeka is looking forward to further challenges ahead as she continues her dive training but is just as happy under Flinders Pier with her camera in her hand!
